Scenario analysis on road transport service: Energy consumption and GHG emissions

The aim of this study is to evaluate energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from Vietnam’s road transport service through establishing scenarios in 2015-2050. Four are firstly developed toward improving efficiency, floating automotive industry strategy then demands, GHG for these estimated. Transport demand, technology penetrative rate, fuel type, economy, emission standard influence other factors on bases the selected input data. Calculator 2050 used as a support tool interface calculation. results shown following: Energy will reach 11.28 Mtoe 32.07 MtCO2e 2030 well 36.95 105.04 basic scenario, respectively, with annual average growth rate 6.4%. contribution increasing freight higher than that passenger service. In best case, reduced by 27.4%, 30.3% 37.8%, 50.7% compared scenario. This reduction mainly due use alternative fuels/vehicles activities.
